Advisory

Drawing on a broad range of technical and operational expertise from across the BSA business, we offer Advisory services to our clients that are tailored to their unique requirements.

We understand our customers’ key drivers, whether that be direct return on investment from energy cost savings, carbon reduction commitments, or green credentials (such as Greenstar or NABERs ratings) leading to tenant retention. Our customers can access any combination of our Advisory services support their strategic energy roadmap.

Energy audits and business case development by accredited professionals.

Our process begins with energy and performance auditing of our customer’s building and systems. BSA offers AS3598:2014 standard energy audits including:

  • Level 1 – Basic Audit
  • Level 2 – Detailed Energy Audit
  • Level 3 – Precision Subsystem Audit

Audits are used for determining and scoping potential upgrade projects at a target site and include analysis of energy use and energy consumption of site assets, historical load profiles and site specific constraints. The data is used to identify, quantify and report on the opportunities for improved energy performance.

BSA conducts NABERS rating assessments and provides efficiency guidance using in-house NABERS Accredited Assessors. An assessment of a building’s current rating can be included as part of our customers’ initial energy audit.

Leading multiservice design capability.

BSA’s Advisory team includes certified multiservice designers with experience in complex project design of HVAC, Building Management Systems (BMS), electrical, solar and other building services.

Key capabilities:

  • Design and compliance reviews utilising practical contracting experience during design, construction, commissioning or operating phases
  • Innovative value management including alternative design and construction methods (for example prefabrication)
  • Advice on design and construction programming
  • Building Information Modelling (BIM) management, training and configuration
  • Using the latest energy modelling technologies such as Digital Twin Modelling to predict performance and savings, undertake compliance assessments, energy analysis for energy performance contracts (EPC) and asset option studies

Innovation and product selection.

We develop, test and implement our own a range of innovative solutions in HVAC, solar PV and battery systems, energy management solutions and building automation and IoT.

BSA’s Advisors can also assist with the evaluation of energy saving products independent to delivery. Our service can include facilitating workshops and energy strategy development; and the assessment, measurement and verification of specific efficiency opportunities.

Advanced energy modelling technologies and methodologies.

BSA uses Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) Intelligent Communities Lifecycle (ICL) as an energy modelling software platform. It helps to determine the baseline values, the appropriate periodic or seasonal adjustments and for fine tuning the buildings once operational. A simulation energy model using IES and digital twin methodology provides a great opportunity to deliver learning at low cost.

With these tools we are able to assess the energy efficiency solutions that will provide maximum return on investment.

Benefit from experience in project management and delivery.

BSA has the advantage of delivering projects end-to-end. Our customers can opt for a combined Project Management and Delivery model, or opt to use our Project Management services independently.

With a track record of successful projects for the BSA business, BSA’s personnel are highly qualified and experienced. We provide careful planning and management throughout the build process.

BSA also supports installation and fine tune building with International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) and NEBB qualified commissioning personnel.
